Design Challenge
About 30 million individuals across the world have diabetes, but few know of the inevitable and detrimental impact of uncontrolled diabetes: diabetic retinopathy, a disease of the eye leading to blindness. Our team will create an educational kit aimed to prevent retinopathy from happening in the first place. The kit will enable physicians and patient educators to demonstrate the effects of retinopathy both physiologically and systematically, and encourage patients to develop ownership of habits and capabilities to control their diabetes.
