Design Challenge
Hippotherapy uses horseback riding to improve coordination, balance, and core strength, and has been used to treat various conditions such as autism, cerebral palsy, arthritis, Down syndrome, and PTSD. The aim of this project is to build a mechanical hippotherapy device that provides accurately-simulated therapeutic riding experience for patients to increase the accessibility of hippotherapy. Our device will be safe for human trials and adaptable to different demographics.
