Project Title
Automated Monitoring and Control System for Water Waste Reduction in Scale Oil Field
Design Challenge
Efficiency of oil production has become a major concern for modern oil companies. In some fields, oil wells could be producing 95% water, and millions of dollars have to be spent on water treatment because most of the water produced contains pollutants. Currently, engineers are dealing with this problem by manually analyzing a large amount of data, which requires a lot of time and labor. Our project focuses on developing a tabletop model to simulate oilfield processes, and a system that optimizes oil production while minimizing waste using autonomous actuation and a decentralized data network.
