A Statistical Learning Approach to Stock Market Predictions
Design Challenge
The aim of our capstone project is to develop a trading strategy to predict daily stock market returns by incorporating various methods and algorithms in statistical learning. In doing so, we intend to challenge the Efficient Market Hypothesis. We aim to apply statistics in order to to predict these returns one day ahead of time, with as high accuracy as possible, and with better performance than the hypothesis suggests.
