Flowtastic: Know Your Flow
Design Challenge
AORTIX is a circulatory assist pump for heart failure implanted in a minimally invasive procedure. Our design challenge is to develop an integrated solution for heart disease management to enhance patient quality of life. We aim to provide personalized care by monitoring patient data and establishing efficient and robust communication between the patient, doctor, and device.
Design Summary
We are Team Flowtastic, and we are creating a complementary system to Procyrion's AortixTM that provides personalized patient care, remote monitoring capabilities, and an informative and intuitive user interface for both patient and doctor. Our system will control the AortixTM pump speed based on patient physiological data, allow the doctor the access to patient and motor data, and display relevant information to the patient. Our system will use an Android app for patient communication and will be integrated with an existing EMR software for doctor monitoring.
