Project Title
A Novel Multi-Sensor Device for Seizure Detection
Design Challenge
We are developing a noninvasive, wearable multi-sensor device for detecting seizures in patients with epilepsy. The device should be designed for long-term, continuous monitoring of people ages 6 and up in an outpatient setting. Additionally, it must cost less than $100 to manufacture, minimize power consumption, and wirelessly report data to a computer.
Design Summary
Our device aims to measure respiratory rate and skin conductance. We are building a belt consisting of a stretch sensor and embedded electrodes to be worn across the chest. Currently, we are in the process of constructing and testing an embedded electronics module capable of analog signal conditioning, analog-digital conversion, and data transmission via Bluetooth.
